St.
Boniface is a congregation in the
Episcopal Diocese of
Milwaukee. We are part of the Episcopal Church, which is
affiliated with the worldwide Anglican Communion. Our
historical roots come from the Church of England. Many
of our American presidents have been Episcopalians
including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and
Franklin Roosevelt.
Although we are a Protestant church, our services are
very similar to those of the Roman Catholic Church. Our
worship is centered on the Holy Eucharist, during which
we celebrate our unity in Christ by sharing His body and
blood with each other. Our services also include Bible
readings, prayers and preaching.
Because we understand that people respond to God in
different ways, our worship schedule includes
three services, each with its own distinct style. On
Saturday evenings at 5 p.m., our Rite 1 service includes no music and is intended for
those seeking a quiet, contemplative time with God.
On Sundays, our
8:30 a.m. service features
contemporary Christian music as performed by our Rays of
Light praise and worship team. The style is informal and
appeals to young people and teens. Our 10:30 a.m.
service usually features traditional music performed by
our Chancel Choir and hymns drawn from the rich
Episcopal church music tradition. This service showcases
the beauties of the Anglican liturgy.
