What is Scrip?

Scrip offers over 500 prepaid gift cards from some of the country's biggest names.  Scrip has cards that can be used at grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, movie theaters, home improvement stores, coffee houses, clothing and department stores, many online retailers as well as many other stores.  For example Sendiks offers a 5% rebate, Pick N' Save offers 4% back and Piggly Wiggly gives 3% back.  So if you spend $100 a week or $400 a month on groceries your rebate to the church would be $12-$20 a month.  Then if you spend $200 on gas per month the rebate for that would be $3-$18 since the gas rebates vary from 1.5% to 9%.  If you only bought cards for groceries and gas then your rebate would be $180-$456 per year.  Again imagine how that would add up if there were 10, 20 or 50 families who did that?  How much would it be if you bought cards for other stores you frequent besides the grocery store and the gas station?

How do I Participate?

All you need to do is decide what businesses you frequent and place an order for the cards for that business.  Cards can be purchased in the narthex after weekend services or orders can be taken and the cards will be available for pick up the next weekend.

There are order forms and detailed ordering instructions on the table in the narthex.  The order form shows local and major online businesses but there are hundreds more available on the SCRIP website that can be ordered.  To see a complete list go to www.glscrip.com.  If you have any questions please email Terri Heidtke or call her at 262-242-2994.
