Our search for a new rector began in February, 2007 when Father Lambert announced that he was leaving St. Boniface to become rector of a church in Florida. He had served our parish faithfully for 17 years and we spent the new few weeks saying good-bye. He and his family were the guests of honor at a parish luncheon on April 15. We took the next step in our process when the vestry met with Bishop Steven Miller to discuss the transition. The vestry then approved the appointment of a nine-member Search Committee. The committee was commissioned on May 13 and is beginning a parish self study. As the first step in the self-study, the group prepared two surveys and distributed them to the parish the week of June 25, 2007. Results were announced to the parish in August. On August 5, 2007, Senior Warden Joan Kirkwood announced to the parish that the vestry had decided to hire Father John Hickey as a full-time interim priest. He began his position on September 1. On December 13, 2007, the vestry approved the narrative profile of St. Boniface and sent the official listing of the rector position to the national church office. In January, 2008, the Search Committee began to receive names of candidates. To read the parish profile, click here. In March, 2008, the committee began interviewing candidates. That process is continuing and the committee expects to recommend candidates to the parish by sometime this summer.
